How we started

In July 1991, Habib and Khatia Jiha, a young local couple, decided to combine their love of art with the facts of business by opening  ” Expressions Galerie d’Art ” in Petion-Ville.

Besides the continuous turmoil caused by the unstable political situation, Expressions Galerie became over the years one of the most recommended and renowned source for Haitian art.

The gallery promotes the art of Haiti by participating actively in many art exhibits around the world and also acts as an active sponsor for the upcoming artists.

Born and raised in Haiti, Habib and Khatia love and appreciate the country’s rich culture and the most enjoyable aspects of their gallery experience is helping local and  international visitors, discover Haitian art while many of them are amazed and still wondering how Haiti shelters such a hidden treasure.
